MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR KINDERMUSIK EXPERIENCE
Plan to arrive about 5 to 10 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class gives your child time to settle in, listen to music, explore instruments, and get comfortable in the music environment. And it gives you a chance to connect with other adults and new friends!
Please put away toys, drink cups and snacks before coming into class.
Dress comforably so that you and your child can move, sit on the floor, stand and dance! Barefoot or sock-footed is best for baby, so remove shoes if you are comforable doing this.
During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. Many children take awhile to warm up to a new environment. Don't be discouraged if your child would rather be sitting quietly in your lap than participating with movements and sounds. Children absorb so much by watching and listening and you'll see the results once you are home.
In class it's best to focus only on your child. Although it is tempting to catch up on news with other adults during class, wait until afterwards or come early to chat! Your child will learn best if you are an active participant and focused on them. Your child will model your actions and focus more fully, too!
Use your At-Home materials. Kids love repetition. They love hearing the songs from class over and over again! Listen in the car, during playtime; play lullabies and soothing music during special time, naps and bedtime routine.
